About Me:

Before taking this trip, I worked in the Internet boom economy about four years. It was often fun and always interesting, but I kept running into messages that told me to go travel. I met the most fascinating people who shared tales of their own travels. In Chinese restaurants, I would get fortunes that said things like, "Go for it. Take that trip!" and "How you spend your days is how you live your life." Without a family or mortgage, I had lots of reasons to go, and very few reasons to stay. Finally, I summoned up the courage to quit my job. 

Traveling is in my blood. My parents love to travel. My mother planned to travel a lot more when she retired. Unfortunately, she died from cancer before she had that chance. Now I'm traveling for both of us. This site and this journey are dedicated to her: Penny Lerner.
